Joliet Business Owner Charged With Father's Murder In Arizona

The future of Joliet's Clique Nutrition, 2405 Essington Road, is now murky after owner Dustin Hegreberg is charged with second-degree murder

JOLIET, IL — The owner of Joliet's Clique Nutrition store on Essington Road has been charged with second-degree murder in the killing and disposal of his 57-year-old father's body in Mesa, Arizona, the Arizona Republic reported.

Joliet businessman Dustin Hegreberg, 35, was arrested after the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office deputies were alerted to blood inside a house on Sunday evening; deputies found Hegreberg's father had been dead for several hours, Arizona's largest newspaper reported.

The Arizona sheriff's department determined that the 57-year-old victim was fatally shot and that Hegreberg had been visiting since Dec. 16, the article stated.

According to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, Hegreberg had been arrested the previous day by Aurora police on charges of domestic battery and criminal damage to property. He was released from the Kendall County Jail Dec. 16 after posting $300 bail.

After shooting his father, Dustin Hegreberg took plastic from the garage and used it to drag his father's body to another room where he poured bleach on his father's body to mask the odor, the Arizona Republic reported, citing criminal court documents.

Hegreberg now faces charges of second-degree murder, manslaughter and tampering with physical evidence, and his bail was set at $1 million, the Arizona newspaper reported.

The Joliet Clique Nutrition store is a member of the Joliet Chamber of Commerce, but on Wednesday the Clique Nutrition Facebook page was disabled. Clique Nutrition is a vitamins and supplements store.

As CEO of Clique Nutrition in Joliet, Hegreberg has produced numerous motivational and inspiration YouTube videos.
