Experience Ethereal: The Art of Riitta Klint
DAYTONA BEACH, FL. – The Wit Gallery, of Lenox, MA, is proud to announce Finnish-born artist Riitta Klint’s ethereal dreamscapes will be on display at the Museum of Arts & Sciences until March 14, 2021.
Klint’s unique work combines drawing and acrylic paint and are inspired by years of traveling around the world and absorbing cultural expressions in Asia, the Middle East and Europe. In the best tradition of Modernism, her works evoke feeling, atmosphere and mystery and achieve an elegance only matched in nature.
Her process involves dripping and pooling paint and waiting for images to appear organically.
Klint describes it this way, “I begin my acrylic paintings on a clay panel; lustrous, smooth and porous. This is the beginning. Working on a table, exploring, with thin veils of paint,…… that drip, pool and congeal…and like nature, move out of my control. I never plan, sketch or have a preconceived idea of where it is going. It is only in the doing that it emerges. I apply thicker layers of color and then thinner again. I work intuitively within these initial spaces, searching for what is right, even changing orientation throughout. My paintings echo my emotions and my awe of nature and its cyclical patterns. These paintings are abstract yet reference landscapes - not landscapes normally seen, but landscapes that appear on a threshold. My paintings offer me mystery, beauty, fragility and hope. One impulsive stroke of paint can lead to hope and a renewed belief in life.”
Klint was born in Finland, then moved with her family to the Far East, Middle East, Europe and Mexico. She later attended college in the U.S. and then worked for a company that sent her traveling across the country. After moving to Florida in 1999, she went back to school and received her BFA from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, and finally realized her dream. “I took a chance, left my job, and never looked back.”
The Wit Gallery has been a leading venue for contemporary art in the heart of the Berkshires for more than 20 years and is known for showing a diverse range of creative talent from both emerging and established artists.

Little Radical Theatrics is proud to present its first production in Orlando: "Into the Woods"
Produced by Fatima Viegas
Directed by Bryan Jager, Musical Direction by Charles Stevens, Stage Managed by Amy Bates,
Assistant Stage Managed by Samantha Wolf and Rachel Johnson
James Lapine and Stephen Sondheim take everyone's favorite storybook characters and bring them together for a timeless, yet relevant, piece. The story follows a Baker and his wife, who wish to have a child; Cinderella, who wishes to attend the King's Festival; and Jack, who wishes his cow would give milk. When the Baker and his wife learn that they cannot have a child because of a Witch's curse, the two set off on a journey to break the curse. Everyone's wish is granted, but the consequences of their actions return to haunt them later with disastrous results.
With an original concept by Director Bryan Jager, “Into the Woods” at Little Radical Theatrics is staged in a custom environmental seating arrangement, with clusters of socially distanced audience members placed around the perimeter of the action. All actors will be wearing masked and the show has been staged and choreographed to keep the actors at a distance as much as possible, using incredible creativity and theatrical magic to tell this story in a safe environment.
Starring Jarrett Poore as The Baker, Kelley Mauro as the Baker's Wife, Laurel Hatfield as The Witch, Joni Newman as Cinderella, Jhalon Thomas as Jack, Kasey Kraft as Little Red Riding Hood, Scott Browning as The Narrator/Mysterious Man, Stephanie Lourenco as Jack's Mother, Brett Shelton as Cinderella's Prince/Wolf, Daniel Sullivan as Rapunzel's Prince/Wolf/Milky White, Ryan Campbell as Rapunzel
Featuring Ashley Fisher as Cinderella's Stepmother, Meagan Haddock as Florinda, Sarah Guthrie as Lucinda, Peter Petrella as The Steward, Susan Addis as Grandmother/Cinderella's Mother, Chad Campbell as Cinderella's Father

Jeremiah’s Italian Ice Opening First Ocala Location
Orlando-based frozen treats franchise concept continues rapid expansion across the United States
Florida favorite Jeremiah’s Italian Ice is bringing its delicious frozen treats to its first Ocala location. While the brand’s nationwide expansion continues, it is also continuing to open new locations to serve up smiles throughout central Florida. The new Ocala location will be located at 2707 East Silver Springs Boulevard, and will begin serving up frozen treats on October 13.
“We are incredibly excited to share this Florida-favorite brand with the Ocala community,” stated Brandon Manly, one of the owners of iServ Ice, LLC, which has plans to develop at least 10 Jeremiah’s Italian Ice locations throughout central Florida. “Jeremiah’s Italian Ice has an extremely large and loyal fan base across the state, so we knew that the Ocala community would love our delicious and tasty treats.”
Jeremiah’s Italian Ice has been a Florida favorite since its founding in 1996. After launching its franchise opportunity in late spring of 2019, the brand garnered even more popularity as it began developing locations throughout Florida, but also in new markets across the country. At every Jeremiah’s location, customers experience the brand’s signature upbeat, family-friendly atmosphere and over 40 flavors of delicious, high quality Italian Ice and creamy Soft Serve Ice Cream. Jeremiah’s signature Gelati features a layered combination of Italian ice swirled with homemade soft serve ice cream, which offers customers a nearly limitless amount of flavor combinations.
“After learning of the Jeremiah’s franchise opportunity, we knew that this was the perfect concept for us,” added Manly. “The brand’s company culture was a really exciting factor for us, and the experience that our guests have when they come to our location, starts with how Jeremiah’s treats and trains their employees. We can’t wait for the Ocala community to stop by and have the full Jeremiah’s experience.”
During these unprecedented times, Jeremiah’s wants to make sure everyone feels comfortable and safe, which is why the Ocala location will have a large outdoor patio where families can enjoy Jeremiah’s delicious treats. The new location will also offer customers the convenience of a drive thru, and is available for order on third party delivery apps as well. Throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, Jeremiah’s has emphasized the importance of maintaining the health and safety of its employees and customers while continuing to spread positivity in a friendly atmosphere.
While Jeremiah’s continues its Florida expansion, the brand is positioned to become the premier frozen dessert franchise concept of the new decade.
