Concerns Rise Over Severe Weather On Christmas Eve, Day In CT
The National Weather Service issued advisories for a powerful storm forecast for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day in Connecticut.

CONNECTICUT — It's not exactly a merry weather forecast — Connecticut is expected to get slammed by a strong storm that will produce heavy rain and 60 mph wind gusts Christmas Eve and Christmas Day.
A hazardous weather outlook and high wind watch are in effect for southern Connecticut on Christmas Eve through Christmas morning.
"Flooding will be possible Thursday night into Friday," the weather service said. "However, there remains uncertainty in the location of the heaviest rain."
Christmas Eve will start off cloudy and the chance of rain will increase in the afternoon. Wind gusts will average 20-30 mph. The rain will be heaviest after midnight and early Christmas Day.
The strongest wind gusts will be in southern Connecticut, especially along the coast and in the southeastern part of the state.
There was some talk a couple of days ago about the rain ending as snow Christmas Day, but that is no longer the case. However, temperatures will plummet Christmas Day. Right after midnight on Christmas morning, temperatures will be near 60 degrees. By late Christmas Day, temperatures will fall into the low 20s across the state.
It will remain cold for the weekend, with daytime highs in the 30s.
Quiet today and MOST of tomorrow, but the rain and wind will start tomorrow evening and pick up in intensity early Christmas morning--bouts of heavy rain (possibly some storms) along with winds gusting around 50-60+ MPH. A wild ride on Christmas morning as heavy rain and very gusty winds may cause a number of problems across the state. The timing of this sucks, because it'll cause a lot of power crews & emergency crews to be away from their families on Christmas. pic.twitter.com/tLkKhynIbs
